Lyle Taylor sends cryptic message after Nottingham Forest decision

Striker Lyle Taylor appears to have suggested he will keep working hard on the training pitch, despite finding himself out of favour at Nottingham Forest.

The 32-year-old has not featured for the Reds this season. And he was not included in the 25-man Premier League squad which was submitted after the summer transfer window closed.

He has taken to Instagram, sharing a video of a goal being scored in training. Alongside it, he posted the caption: “Work. Quietly.”

Taylor spent the second half of last season on loan at Birmingham City, having dropped down the pecking order at the City Ground. He returned to Forest in the summer and was an unused substitute against Newcastle United and West Ham United, but has not been in a match day squad since - including for the Carabao Cup tie against Grimsby Town.

Boss Steve Cooper has said of his decision to leave the forward and midfielder Cafu out of his 25-man list: "There's always disappointment when you have to leave lads out. But we've been very clear with everybody.

"I would like to think I'm always up front with the players on why we make decisions, and where they stand. So as disappointing as it may be, it's not too much of a surprise internally because of the way we try our best to communicate with the players.

"But there's always a line, because it has to be a 25-man squad. Unfortunately, some guys fall on the other side of it.”

Back in August, Taylor wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture of himself smiling in Forest training gear: “Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting…”
