Lyle Taylor criticises Chelsea star's 'unsettling' penalty technique
Lyle Taylor has become well known for his peculiar technique when it comes to penalties, but few were expecting the Nottingham Forest striker to have some pearls of wisdom for international star Jorginho.
It came after Jorginho missed from the penalty spot against West Ham. Fortunately, for the Italy international, Christian Pulisic scored in second-half stoppage time to spare him any blushes.
The seasoned international penalty taker will no doubt receive plenty of criticism for his unusual technique and Taylor - currently on-loan at Birmingham City - was one of those who raised questions.
Carl Jenkinson impressing away from Nottingham Forest on loan
Nottingham Forest enjoyed a busy January transfer window as Steve Cooper looked to make his mark on the Reds after taking over the reins from Chris Hughton in September 2021.
Joao Carvalho (Olympiacos, permanent), Mohamed Drager (FC Luzern, loan with option), Lyle Taylor (loan), Rodrigo Ely (released), Jordi Osei-Tutu (returned to parent club), Carl Jenkinson (Melbourne City, loan) all left the City Ground back in the winter, but one particular player has shone since moving away. Carl Jenkinson.
Injuries proved to be Jenkinson's main struggle at Nottingham Forest, resulting in just 15 appearances across all competitions for the Reds. Eight of those came in one season (2019/20). Remarkably, however, he has enjoyed an injury-free time since heading Down Under.
Roy Keane discusses return to management with Scottish club
Former Nottingham Forest favourite Roy Keane has been linked with a return to management for the first time since he left the City Ground in 2019.
Keane's last role within a coaching set-up was a six-month spell as assistant manager at Forest three years ago, but the 50-year-old Irishman came close to a return to Sunderland in February before conversations broke down and Alex Neil took the reins instead.
According to reports in the national media, Keane has "discussed the Hibs job with friends" but has hesitations over owner Ron Gordon, who sacked Shaun Maloney after just 120 days in charge. Maloney's predecessor, Jack Ross, was sacked despite taking the Scottish outfit to the League Cup final with a 3-1 semi-final win over Rangers.
Why Steve Cooper almost didn't celebrate Nottingham Forest victory
Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper admitted he debated whether to hold off on his usual post-victory celebration on Saturday.
The Cooper fist-pumps have become synonymous with Reds wins this season. And the away fans roared as they made an appearance after the 1-0 triumph over Peterborough United at London Road.
But while Sam Surridge’s goal secured three points which put Forest one point away from mathematically guaranteeing a top-six finish, it was also a result which relegated the hosts. Cooper had that at the forefront of his mind at the final whistle.
