One of Britain’s most luxurious trains will transport passengers from Liverpool to see a spectacular fireworks display on Bonfire Night.
Those on board will tuck into a seven course banquet, served with champagne as they relax in the ornately decorated 1930s-style Pullman carriages. A giant vintage diesel locomotive nicknamed ‘The Bodysnatcher’ by railway enthusiasts is set to haul the Northern Belle, once part of the iconic Orient Express group.
The train will depart from Preston at 3:50pm on Saturday, November 5 before calling at Liverpool Lime Street station at 4:55pm and Manchester Victoria at 6:10pm. Once passengers are all on board, the journey will come to a stop in a secluded siding for a bird’s eye view as the fireworks are set off over the backdrop of the Irish Sea.

The experience doesn’t come cheap, at £340 a ticket, but almost all have sold out already. A spokesman said: “It might sound expensive, but this will be a November 5th that our passengers remember all their lives.
“They will be treated like VIPs from the moment they step on board at the station over a red carpet. We even have an on-board magician and musicians to entertain them before our on-board chefs prepare a delicious dinner served with fine wine.”
The Northern Belle will be back in Liverpool for a slap-up Christmas lunch trip on Wednesday, December 14. For more details see www.northernbelle.co.uk .
