Bath bomb inventor Lush has launched a mysterious explosive with a lovely smell, following a collaboration with Nintendo and Illumination.
The Lush x The Super Mario Bros. Movie collection boasts the yellow Question Block resembling the iconic coin box in the animated film, produced by Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination's Chris Meledandri.
The two-in-one Question Block comes in six variations with a hidden surprise. Once dropped into a bathtub full of water, each fizzy bomb swirls in different colours with a distinctive scent, and then breaks open to reveal a power-up coin, mushroom, flower or gold star.
Fans of the movie can create their own bespoke Question Block with a selection of the limited-edition vegan products.
The Gold Coin soap is scented with Honey I Washed The Kids previously featured in Lush's body spray.
Other handmade products are inspired by characters in the blockbuster movie that has Chris Pratt and Charlie Day voicing the Brooklyn plumbers Mario and Luigi.
Scented like cola or apple, Lush shower gels are in red or green in reference to the colour of the shirt and hat worn by the moustached protagonists.
Luigi is captured by the Koopa, a tribe of turtles led by fire-breathing Bowser. Mario, with the help of Princess Peach and Toad from the Mushroom Kingdom, set out to find his brother.
In the original Nintendo video game released in 1985, players are asked to be Mario, who has to save Princess Peach and the Mushroom people from black magic practised by the evil Koopa.
Princess Peach is represented by a pink shower jelly containing fresh peach infusion and carrageenan extract from seaweed. The complementing body spray also smells like juicy peach and fresh pineapple.
Bowser Shower Jelly differs in the fiery colour and spicy Fireside scent with a blend of cinnamon leaf oil, zingy lime and sweet benzoin.
