Lululemon founder Chip Wilson has filed for divorce from his wife Shannon ‘Summer’ Wilson, ending a marriage that has lasted more than two decades and potentially setting up a major battle over one of Canada’s biggest fortunes. Wilson, 71, filed a family legal proceeding in the Supreme Court of British Columbia in April, Bloomberg reported. The American-born businessman, who grew up in Canada and still lives there, has not publicly explained why the couple are separating.
People familiar with the situation told Bloomberg that Chip and Shannon Wilson had spoken to friends about their separation. Neither has publicly commented on the divorce. Wilson is estimated to have a fortune of about $6.1 billion, while both he and his wife have held stakes in Lululemon, the athleticwear company they helped build.
