Notts County manager Luke Williams explained the importance of his side picking up three points against York City this afternoon following their display at Dorking Wanderers last weekend.
The Magpies came away 3-1 winners from the LNER Community Stadium, with a stunning free-kick from Quevin Castro and another brace from Macaulay Langstaff answering Fraser Kerr's equaliser in the first half.
Following their first defeat of the National League season, the Notts manager explained that it was important his side returned to winning ways if they are to maintain their aspirations of gaining promotion from the National League.

Speaking after the game, Williams said: "We know we have to be right up there, and we have to compete both home and away with the intention to win and so today we felt probably more pressure than we have done before because of the result at Dorking.
"We are really pleased with the performance. It is the work rate that I am most impressed with.
"We are very lukcy that the game is progressing so much with sports science, and we can see the data is coming through and how hard the guys are working, and it was off the chart today.
"And then, they take the ball, and they are able to build-up well with the ball or go direct because they can go and catch up with the play, but it is the intensity of the work that is so pleasing."
One of the standout moments of the game happened in the opening five minutes, when the on-loan West Brom midfielder Castro picked the ball up around 30 yards from goal before arrowing a free-kick in off the crossbar.
And Williams revealed that his players practice free-kicks in the lead up to matches, and after seeing Castro's quality insisting he took the set-piece this afternoon.
"Yeah, it was brilliant, we saw him do it in training from distances not really comfortable for Ruben and Matty as much, but he has that incredible up and down with the way he hits through the ball," Williams added.
"We practice free-kicks in training and it is part of the set-pieces that we practice and the guys that have that flair for free-kick practice to try and fine tune their technique.
"And Quevin has shown us he can hit them from a long distance with that knuckleball technique and I was really pleased for him today."
