Notts County boss Luke Williams has explained how he was happy with his players being disappointed at not being involved in their FA Trophy win over Chorley on Tuesday evening.
The Magpies made six changes to the side that beat Gateshead a week prior, giving newest recruit John Bostock his first start for the club in what was a surprisingly strong Notts side.
Two academy players also made the bench, with Lucien Mahovo and fellow U19's midfielder Madou Cisse named among the substitutes along with regular first-team players Sam Slocombe, Quevin Castro and Ruben Rodrigues.

Williams made just two changes on the night, with Ed Francis and Kairo Mitchell replacing Jim O'Brien and Cedwyn Scott as Notts secured their progression to the fourth round.
But following the full-time whistle and as the unused substitutes started their warm down, Mahovo in particular looked disappointed in not featuring after making his debut for the Magpies in their FA Cup defeat to Coalville Town back in October.
The Notts boss embraced the youngster and spoke some words of encouragement before speaking to NottinghamshireLive, and explained the reasoning behind not introducing the 17-year-old and some of his more experienced players into the action at Meadow Lane.
"I think Lucien is disappointed and to be honest, Quevin and Ruben will be disappointed but that's what we want," Williams said.
"We want all the guys to be on the pitch and playing but of course, if I don't need to risk one or two players in this game because we have such a busy schedule, then I try not to risk them.
"With the youngsters, I don't want to put them into a situation where they come on the pitch when we are 2-1 up and then it goes the other way.
"Maybe then they may feel too much pressure in that way. It wasn't the right time to bring the guys on the pitch and I think they will get another opportunity at some point, I am sure."
