Luke Shaw has agreed a new four-year contract at Manchester United.
The 27-year-old's current deal is set to expire in 2024 but the Red Devils are keen to tie him down. Shaw has been exceptional under Erik ten Hag this term, having regained his place from Tyrell Malacia.
Shaw has started the last 19 Premier League matches and made that position his own. Ten Hag decided to sign Malacia last summer to provide competition for the England star - and he has relished that competition - drastically improving on a below-par 2021/22 season.
Now, according to the Athletic, Shaw is expected to pen a new deal which will take him past a decade at Old Trafford following his switch from Southampton in 2014. Shaw's contract will mark the first piece of business done while the uncertainty is hanging over the club amid potential new owners.
United triggered an initial one-year extension in Shaw's contract in December to take him up until the end of next season, and now he has committed his long-term future to the club. Shaw has made 35 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring once and grabbing six assists.
Ten Hag has been impressed with Shaw's attitude this season after the defender was dropped for United's 2-1 win over Liverpool in August. He subsequently didn't play the next four league matches, with Tyrell Malacia taking the reigns at left-back.

However, Shaw regained his spot in the team for the 2-1 victory at Everton after Malacia struggled in the thrashing against Manchester City. Shaw has not looked back - starting in every game since.
Speaking about Shaw in January, Ten Hag told Sky Sports : "He's so honest. After the second game, I didn't play him. He said, 'I fully understand, my performance is not right'. But from the first day of training in pre-season, he was working really hard and you can see when he is in the right approach he's a top player.
"He's not only a team player, he's a leader. He showed a lot of leader capacity. He's the example in this moment and his skills, with his physical power, he brings a lot to the team. Now also in his mentality, he's an example of how to win big games.
"I'm really happy with his development. If it's centre-half or left full-back he's a great player and a great personality for the dressing room."
Shaw has not always played left-back during that run of Premier League starts. He was named at centre-back for the win over Nottingham Forest on December 27 and continued in that role for a number of weeks while Lisandro Martinez was slowly coming back from the World Cup.
He is a trusted member of the United squad and Ten Hag rates him highly. Now, he is set to stay at Old Trafford for a number of years and become a mainstay in the side.
