Lukas Gage found a sense of peace after becoming more comfortable with his sexuality.
The 31-year-old actor previously confirmed that he's "90 percent gay, ten percent straight," following years of speculation over his sexuality, and Lukas has now opened up about his internal struggles with the issue.
Lukas - who has starred in the hit TV shows Euphoria and The White Lotus - told E! News: "I was comfortable with my sexuality with the people that I cared about.
"It was the people that didn't know me that I was the most fearful about."
The actor explained that his perspective on the issue has evolved.
He said: "I don't know what happened, maybe it's growing older or maybe it's just life experience, if people don't want to work with me because of how I identify or who I have sex with, they're probably people I don't want to work with anyway."
Lukas has become more philosophical and relaxed about the issue as he's aged.
The Hollywood star said: "When you're younger, it feels more intense than it actually is, or more important, but ultimately, the right people are going to find you."
Lukas has found a sense of peace since opening up about his sexuality.
The actor explained: "It was like I could take a deep breath.
"At first, having a secret can be fun and it can feel like you're mysterious. Then it starts to eat away at you and you just can't keep up with it anymore.
"Just being upfront was the thing that allowed me to be more free, allowed my work to be better and allowed me actually to work with the right people. It aligned me in the right way."
Lukas previously admitted he didn't know he was gay during his teenage years.
He said on the Seek Treatment podcast: "I honestly … I swear I’m not making this up … I wish I knew earlier. But I had girlfriends that I was obsessed with till I was like 18 or 19, when I met my neighbour. I loved them, oh my god."
