Liverpool have wasted no time throwing Luis Diaz in at the deep end, with the Colombian international starting his first Premier League game after joining from Porto at the end of January.
The 25-year-old had made his debut from the bench last weekend in an FA Cup victory over Cardiff City, but was handed a start by manager Jurgen Klopp with Mohamed Salah left on the bench after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Liverpool came out on top against former boss Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City side, with Diogo Jota scoring once in each half in a relatively comfortable victory.
While the Portuguese star earned most of the plaudits, Klopp also had time to lavish praise on the newest addition to his squad.

"He has the skillset and character," Klopp said of Diaz after the 2-0 win.
"One of the best first games I saw from a new player but we have to see how he adapts, there's no rush.
"It was a good chance to start him with Sadio not here and Mo back from an intense tournament. Yes, Luis showed up."
Mane was left out of the squad after joining Senegal's AFCON victory celebrations in Dakar, and Klopp revealed he will assess the former Southampton man before determining whether he will start against Burnley on Sunday.
Liverpool's No.10 converted Senegal's winning penalty in the final against Egypt, having also scored his country's first goal of the tournament from the spot, and was named player of the tournament for his exploits in Cameroon.
"Will Sadio be available? We have to find out<" the manager said," with Diaz an option if Mane is left out at Turf Moor.
"We will make a decision after training. Physically we have to see how the last few days were for him."
Klopp is by no means the only one to speak highly of Diaz, who had scored 16 times for Porto this season and impressed against Liverpool in the Champions League before moving to Anfield for an initial £37.5m amid interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur.
"His first training session I saw him flying about and I thought 'he'll be okay here'," defender Andy Robertson revealed, after linking up well with Diaz down the left during the win against Leicester.
"Look, we need to let him bed in, he's obviously still got the language to pick up and the way we play and everything.
"I thought for his first start he was excellent today. Him flying in to tackles today - that's one way to get the crowd to love you straightaway and I think they really took to him."
