Graeme Souness has lauded the impact of Luis Diaz after the Liverpool new boy put in another dazzling display during Saturday evening's 1-0 win over West Ham.
Sadio Mane's poaching instincts were enough to keep the heat on Manchester City at the top of the table, but it was Diaz who stole the show.
The Reds swooped in to pip Tottenham to a £37million deal for the Colombian attacker in the final days of the January transfer window.
And Diaz has adapted seamlessly to life in the Premier League; starting four of the five league games he's been available for since the switch.
He's already done enough to impress Souness, who is revered at Anfield for his contributions to the club both as a player and a manager.

And the Liverpool icon has pinpointed the three ways that Diaz has improved Jurgen Klopp's group after he ran West Ham ragged in the Reds slender win.
"He’ll of given everyone a lift," Souness told Sky Sports. "He’s a player that if you’re a supporter he gets you on the edge of your seat. He’s direct, he’s quick, he’s aggressive.
"He does that thing which crowds love; he loses the ball, sprints back and puts a tackle in to win it back. He goes past people for fun. He’s quick, he’s direct. There’s a lot to like about him and this system will suit him perfectly.
"He’s just another absolute threat that Liverpool have. Defenders don’t like to play against people who can go past you with either pace or drop of the shoulder and it looks like he’s got both. Super dangerous. A real asset to Liverpool."
And Souness believes that adding Diaz to the group has only reinforced the belief in the squad that they have the firepower necessary to overhaul City at the top of the league.
He added: "They’ve got a really strong squad, they made an addition in Diaz who would light up the dressing room again and they’re in a great place right now."
Mane's strike means that City's lead at the summit of the Premier League has been cut to just three points.
However, Liverpool rode their luck against the Hammers; who had a host of chances to bolster their own top-four aspirations.
Despite boasting an array of attacking talent, with the likes of Mane and Diaz linking up with Mohamed Salah, the Reds couldn't muster up a second goal to earn themselves some breathing space.
And they had Trent Alexander-Arnold to thank for some heroic defending on the line to keep their lead intact in the first half.
At the other end, Alexander-Arnold played a pivotal role in teeing up Mane for the all-important goal.
He may have held greater ambitions for his scuffed shot, but Mane tucked home to hand Alexander-Arnold his 16th assist in all competitions - matching his career best tally from the 2018/19 season.
