LUDHIANA: In a big development in the affairs of the working committee of Arya Samaj Model Town in Ludhiana, the members during a meeting elected Rakesh Jain as its interim president, captain VK Syal as interim secretary and Sudhir Syal as interim treasurer of the working committee.
The development took place allegedly due to displeasure expressed by the members on the working of the current office bearers.
The interim office bearers Jain and Syal said, “During the tenure of the previous committee, several norms of our organisations have been violated, some of which include including 19 new members who were either close ones or family members of the office bearers, this was done with the uterior motive of keeping the management of the schools run by the Arya Samaj Model Town in their control. When the members protested this move they were totally ignored. Despite demand being moved by members in writing to cancel the memberships of those members, no action was taken. Based upon these reasons the members while exercising their powers today have changed the managing committee with immediate effect and 40 out of the 72 members have already approved this decision. It will be our topmost priority to run the Arya Samaj Model Town as per the rules and regulations laid down in our constitution and we will ensure that working of our organisation is done in transparent and impartial manner”
