A British Lottery player has come forward to claim the huge EuroMillions jackpot - four days after the winning numbers were revealed.

Camelot UK said on Monday just one ticket holder has made a claim on the £54,957,242.50 fortune from the draw held on Friday June 10.

If their lucky Lotto win is confirmed they would become the third British EuroMillions winner this year claiming the numbers 17, 26, 36, 37 and 40 with Lucky Stars are 9 and 12.

It is up to them whether they want to go public and reveal their plans for the life-changing amount of money.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, “It’s been an amazing year for National Lottery players and we’re delighted the huge £54M jackpot has been claimed.

“Our focus is now on supporting the ticket-holder through the process and helping them start to enjoy their truly life-changing win.

“There is another chance for a big UK winner tomorrow night (Tuesday 21 June) when there is an estimated £122M EuroMillions jackpot up for grabs.”

Camelot had urged potential winners to check their tickets and come forward after the prize was unclaimed for days.

They could only reveal the winner bought their ticket in a retail store, rather than online.

As well as the £54.9 million prize, 2022 has already seen an anonymous UK winner claim £109 million from the February 4 draw.

This was followed by the biggest-ever National Lottery win of £184 million by Joe and Jess Thwaite from Cheltenham on May 10.

They decided to go public with their huge win.

Couple Joe and Jess Thwaite, from Gloucester, spent £38,000 from their £184 million EuroMillions win on the understated grey Volve V60, The Sun reports.

Neighbours told the paper they are hardly surprised the pair have yet to spend vast amounts of their staggering windfall.

“They’re mega lottery winners but first and foremost they’re down-to-earth people who have worked hard their whole lives,” said one.

“The car is smart, respectable and sensible - just like Joe and Jess.”
