LUCKNOW: Three youths were killed in a road accident on Kisan Path in Sushant Golf City area when their four-wheeler collided with a truck on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Satyam Tripathi (20), Akash Kushwaha (21) and Nikesh Sharma (20) of Kushinagar.
According to police, the car rammed the truck from the rear side, in which the driver and two passengers got stuck. Police used the cutters to pull out the passengers and rushed them to hospital where doctors declared them dead.
The youths were returning to their home district Kushinagar after visiting a relative in Lucknow, said investigating officer, Deepak Pandey.
SHO, Sushant Golf City, Devendra Vikram Singh, said that the real reason behind the accident could not be ascertained.
An FIR under the charges of rash driving, causing death by negligence and mischief has been registered.
