Lucknow: ‘No screen use for kids up to 6 years’, says Dr Adarsh Tripathi

LUCKNOW: While digital literacy is an essential skill in today’s time, the use of smartphones for entertainment must be regulated in the interest of children. Dr Adarsh Tripathi, associate professor of psychiatry at KGMU, says parents must be specifically careful till their child is six-year-old.

“The human brain develops at a very rapid pace in the first six years of life. Unregulated and excessive exposure to screen may derail this process of growth and cause long-term mental, physical and cognitive damages. No or minimal exposure is recommended at this time,” he said.
