Lucknow: Close shave for driver as truck falls into canal

LUCKNOW: The driver and the helper of a truck had a narrow escape after the truck fell into Indira Canal on Faizabad road under BBD police station area on Thursday. The duo had to break open the windowpane to escape from the truck.

The truck driver tried to overtake vehicles on the bridge from an opening on the left side. He apparently thought that there was a side lane, but that actually was a dry part of the canal with a steep fall. Later the truck was pulled out with the help of cranes.
