At least someone is getting a high valuation from the London Stock Exchange. LSEG shareholders today voted to double the maximum pay of its CEO, David Schwimmer, to £13 million, making him one of the best-paid execs in the country.
So high is his remuneration, he is now earning more than the better-known David Schwimmer, of Friends fame.
The Hollywood star reportedly collected $1 million per episode filming the final season of Friends in 2004. Across the 18 episodes of the season, at 2004 exchange rates that amounts to a total payout of around £10 million.
But with the dearth of IPOs and stream of private equity takeovers, it does rather feel like the London Stock Exchange is always stuck in second gear. It really hasn't been the FTSE's best day, week, month, or even year, for some time.
