The date of Loyle Carner's gig in Liverpool has been announced as part of his UK wide tour.
The hip hop and rap artist is touring the country after the release of his critically acclaimed third album 'hugo' last October. He has also been nominated for Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act at the BRIT awards happening this weekend.
Loyle will perform at Mountford Hall on the February 24 at 7pm, with tickets starting from £28.15 each.

The album is described as Loyle's "most cathartic and ambitious record yet". Referring to Loyle's powerful messages around race and politics, 'hugo' is seen as "both a rallying war cry for a generation forged in fire and a study of the personal internal conflict that drives the rest of the album - as a mixed-race Black man, as an artist, as a father and as a son".
The album was written during lockdown, which has made it a departure from Loyle's previous work. It is said that, with a "renewed clarity and sense of artistic freedom, Carner reached deeper beneath the surface than he ever had before."
There are reflections on growing up without contact without his biological father and messages around "refusing to back down against injustice". The Guardian said the album was a "masterpiece". NME praised it for its "soulful, melancholic sound".
Loyle will likely relish being on Merseyside as he is a huge Liverpool fan. In 2019, he revealed how he carefully schedules his performances to avoid clashing with Liverpool games.
