Low-paid women get superannuation boost, but pension changes would help

Some 200,000 low-paid women received a welcome financial boost this month when the Senate passed legislation giving superannuation entitlements to those earning under $450 monthly.

The changes, which will extend super to 300,000 low-paid workers with average retirement savings of just $12,000, were welcomed by the superannuation industry.
