'Loving' mum told by doctors she had harmless cyst dies of cancer aged 24

A young mum who was told by doctors she had a harmless cyst has tragically died of cancer.

India Skinner passed away on Saturday, July 9, at Grange Hospital with husband Jason and her family by her side. The 24-year-old, from Newport, first started experiencing pains in her left left and pelvis while pregnant with her eldest daughter Harper, Wales Online reports

At this point, doctors diagnosed her with dermoid cyst - despite never carrying out a CT or MRI. After two years of living with cyst in her pelvis - during which time she gave birth to her youngest daughter Willow - India received the heartbreaking news that it was actually a soft tissue sarcoma the size of a baby’s head. Despite the shock of the diagnosis, the mum said she was relieved to finally know the cause of her pain and underwent surgery just a few days later.
