Lovestruck pensioner, 82, separated from toyboy lover, 36, as he returns to Egypt

The pensioner who made headlines for marrying an Egyptian toyboy 45 years her junior has been parted from her "priceless gem" once more after a brief period of reconciliation.

Iris Mohamady - previously Jones - 82, and her 36-year-old husband Mohamed married in November 2020 after meeting on Facebook in 2019, despite Egyptian-born engineer Mohamed being 46 years younger than Iris.

Iris, a retired care worker, has been sharing their relationship journey on social media with fans, posting on Facebook just this week about how happy she was to be reunited with her husband after a month apart, reports the Sun.

Writing on the platform, she said: "Love is... Knowing you look like s**t after a days housework and gardening, without a scrap of make up on dressed in my scruff!

"After a month's absence, my wonderful husband will welcome me just just the way I am, because that's what love is all about.

"Welcome home, Mohamed. Missing you this past month has made me realise what a priceless gem you are.

"This rough diamond of a wife will be more appreciative of you in the future."

But on the very same day they were back together in person, Mohamed posted a video from Cairo airport in Egypt explaining he needed to go back to the country for a "special reason".

Speaking in the video, he assured fans: "I miss my wife Iris, I miss her, and I miss my life with my wife".

Mohamed was finally granted a three-year visa on November 3 last year after the couple applied so he could then move in with Iris.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror last November, Iris shared how Mohamed rang her to tell her the good news while she was shopping.

“There was a lot of happy shouting and screaming," she said.

"I cried in Tesco while sorting out my fruit and vegetables.

“My tears were dripping on the apples. It was amazing.”

When they were back in each other's arms, she said: “We didn’t celebrate – we are just together and that’s celebration enough.

Iris travelled all the way from Weston-Super-Mare getting 3 buses there and 3 back to collect Mohamed from Heathrow (Iris Jones)

“We just had a cup of tea together. Mohamed is happy but he can’t say much at the moment. He’s one of those reserved Egyptians.”

Iris travelled all the way from her home in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset via public transport to London Heathrow to collect Mohamed.

“Three buses there and three back. We were worn out," she explained.

The couple first started chatting on a Facebook group for atheists in the summer of 2019.

They met in person the following November and wed in Cairo a year later.

Iris shot to fame sharing details of their love life (ITV)

Iris shot to fame last year when she told the Sunday Mirror about their sex life.

Iris revealed they became romantic hours after meeting and said: “It was incredible. I felt like a virgin again. It wasn’t easy but it was very loving and romantic.

“My ex-husband said I was frigid when we divorced 40 years ago but I now know I’m certainly not," she explained.

After chatting to the Sunday Mirror last year, it was shared that Mohamed plans to find engineering work in the UK.

Iris said: “As for the future, who knows. It depends on how long I last.”

The mum of two sons, Stephen, 55, and Darren, 54, said some relatives gave her the “silent treatment” after she married Mohamed.

But she said: “We love each other. That’s all that matters.”
