'Lovely' dog left at vets to be euthanised because his family didn't want him

A "lovely" dog was left with a vet to be put down because his family no longer wanted him. Yorkshire Terrier Theo, four, was taken to the vets to be euthanised because his owners didn't want him any more - but fortunately he was saved and is now looking for a loving new home.

Little Theo is currently living in foster care while he is assessed by Friends of Rescue, a team of volunteers based in Northern Ireland, who will match him with the perfect family, BelfastLive reports. His foster mum told the charity he loves walking, is good at night time and is happy meeting other dogs, but he can feel uneasy around strangers and doesn't like to be left on his own.

He would need to live with someone active who can spend a lot of time with him and if they have any other dogs, they would also need to be active as he is very playful. His needs and his personality are currently being assessed fully so he can be matched with a loving new home.
