The family of a teenager who died in a quarry earlier this month have revealed their final wish.
Jamie Lewin was at Dawber Delph with his uncle on Saturday, July 9, when he got into difficulties while swimming. Emergency services attended and after a search of the water, the 16-year-old's body was found.
The teen from Southport was preparing to start his bricklaying apprenticeship in September, his dad told the ECHO, with Jamie having excelled in his vocational GCSEs. Now the family are heartbroken after getting the phone call on Saturday evening that he had struggled in the water.

His body was found after dad, Luke, and mum, Steph, arrived separately at the quarry. Luke Kenyon, 34, described his son as a "bright young boy".
Luke said: "He and his mum were best friends, they had just got back from holiday with each other. He was such a nice, bright young boy. He was never in any trouble and was known by a lot of people. Everyone liked him. He had great plans and had a vision of what he was going to do. He worked hard to get his qualifications and we're all very proud of him."
Steph Lewin, 32, told the ECHO about how her son was "amazing and one of a kind". She said: "He was amazing and one of a kind. He was just a one-off and he would make everyone laugh.
"He was so loveable as well. If anyone needed anything he would be there. He was the first one to defend you and he had so many good friends as well as being one as well."
The aspiring boxer, who had two siblings Poppy, 10, and Michael, 10 months, also had a passion for bikes, with his family now appealing for as many people to attend the funeral route. They want as many bikes and vehicles as possible to join in throughout the day, with anyone who knew Jamie invited to celebrate his life.
On the day of the funeral, the cars will be setting off at 11.20am from Brookfields Funeral Care on Shakespeare Street, Southport, stopping at Longacre in Churchtown before arriving at St Cuthbert's Church on Sally's Lane. Following the service, Jamie's final place of rest will be at John's Church in Crossens.
Steph and Luke confirmed that anyone who knew Jamie is welcome as family and friends will be celebrating the life of the teenager.
