'Love to see it' - Man City fans spot Erling Haaland's Sergio Aguero tribute vs Fulham

Manchester City supporters were sent wild by Erling Haaland during the 2-1 win over Fulham when he performed the famous celebration Sergio Aguero enacted after firing home the title-winning strike against QPR in 2012.

Match-winner Haaland had a goal ruled out for offside earlier in the match after coming off the bench to end his two-game absence amid his foot injury. City had been reduced to 10 men in the first half when Joao Cancelo was dismissed after conceding a penalty, from which Fulham equalised.

The spot kick was converted by former United midfielder Andreas Pereira, who had earlier escaped a red card himself after a heavy tackle on Rodri. City were frustrated for most of the match and couldn’t quite find the breakthrough, until the 95th minute.

Haaland stepped up to save his side’s blushes, bagging the winner from the penalty spot after Kevin De Bruyne was adjudged to have been fouled late on. After firing home his 23rd goal of the season, the Norwegian striker took his shirt off and waved it above his head - just like Aguero did more than a decade ago.

City fans on Twitter loved the gesture, hailing their star striker. One fan even joked that Haaland was in line to follow in the footsteps of Vincent Kompany, David Silva and Aguero in having a statue made in his image due to his celebration alone.
