World-famous singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed he was "really chuffed" when Nottingham Forest got promoted back to the Premier League.
Speaking on the latest episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Sheeran was speaking about the possibility of seeing his team Ipswich Town get back to the Premier League. He then made a comment about Forest, which plenty of Reds supporters will be pleased to hear.
"It'd do a lot for the town if we (Ipswich) got promoted," Sheeran said in a podcast interview recorded on the Zurich leg of his European tour. "If we got to the Premier League it would be mad having Man City coming to play at Portman Road."

He then added: "I love that Nottingham Forest went up. That was one that made me really chuffed." Sheeran went on to predict that sleeping giant teams with a big history will flourish more in the future, in the wake of clubs bankrolled by billionaires. He says supporters of such clubs unfairly label themselves as underdogs.
When Sheeran made the comment about Forest, host Peter Crouch replied, saying: "It's a proper club."
Sheeran is the second celebrity to give their surprise backing to Nottingham Forest in recent weeks. Great British Bake Off host Matt Lucas wrote on Twitter recently: "Steve Cooper is so impressive in interviews. I really hope Forest turn it around."
