Love Island voting figures reveal huge victory for Ekin-Su and Davide as they trounce rivals

The voting figures for this year's Love Island final are out and they show that Ekin-Su and Davide absolutely trounced their rivals to win the show.

Going into the final, odds on the fiery couple taking the title and the £50,000 prize were shortening all the time as bookmakers made them the most overwhelming favourites for a Love Island win since Dani and Jack four years ago. Love Island fans were equally confident about a win for Ekin-Su and Davide and their faith in the now champions proved to be justified as voting stats show that they got a massive 63.69% of the final vote, when fans were able to vote from Sunday night until around an hour into the live final.

They finished almost 50% ahead of runners up Gemma and Luca, who got 14.47%. Things were rather tight between second, third and fourth as Indiyah and Dami weren't too far behind them in 11.77%, with the margin even closer between those two and fourth place couple Tasha and Andrew, who got 10.07%.

Tasha and Andrew's final position was the one that raised the most eyebrows amongst fans and bookies as, ahead of the finale, they had pulled away from Gemma and Luca as second favourites to triumph.

Love Island fans claimed that Ekin-Su and Davide's victory was the perfect 'revenge' on the other couples after they voted them the 'least compatible' in the villa, just days before the final. Others loved the fact that Ekin-Su and Davide won whilst standing next to Gemma and Luca, who'd made snide comments about their public way of becoming 'exclusive'.

After being called as Love Island 2022 winners, there was no 'love or money' decision for Ekin-su and Davide to make as host Laura Whitmore confirmed right at the start of the show that the twist had been axed.
