Love Island viewers spot 'awkward' behaviour on Gemma Owen's first date

Love Island viewers noticed Gemma Owen was exhibiting "awkward" behaviour on her date with Davide Sanclimenti.

After the Italian heartthrob stole Gemma away from Liam, viewers decided they wanted to see the newly formed couple take a secluded date together. Hand in hand, they journeyed together to make freshly squeezed lemonade and see if there was a spark between them.

It was during their time together some eagle-eyed viewers noticed "uncomfortable" behaviour emerging from Gemma. Whilst Davide seemed happy to be having one on one time, Gemma failed to meet his glance throughout the date.

Viewers were quick to notice the unusual behaviour, including the presenters on Good Morning Britain.

Discussing the previous night's episode, Richard Arnold said: "In other news, Davide could do with getting in a lather with Gemma.

"They went on their first school trip together. It was a date, a little bit zesty. The pair made lemonade discussing marriage and babies whilst Davide tried to get a bit of basic eye action from Gemma… without much luck."

A clip was then shown from the date, showing Gemma avoiding eye contact, while a song with the lyrics ‘look at me’ played in the background.

Love Island fans were quick to comment on the awkward exchange as one tweet said: "Is it me or does Gemma literally never look at Davide?"

Another said: "I get the impression Gemma is not actually happy being with Davide, she looks very uncomfortable and it is very awkward between them."

A third tweet added: "There is ZERO chemistry between Gemma and Davide. They didn’t even look at each other once on that date."

A final tweet said: "Wth even are Davide and Gemma. They don’t even look at each other when they talk."

Davide came under fire for his decision to choose Gemma as his coupling partner as the public declared it was "weird" for a 27-year-old to be interested in a 19-year-old. Though the backlash has been bubbling online for two days now, none of the other islanders appear to have commented on it.
