New Love Island arrival Amber Wise has wasted no time in name-dropping her famous footballer dad and fans all have the same complaint about famous people's offspring appearing on the ITV2 reality show in recent years.
Semi-professional footballer Tyrique was the one to uncover Amber's unexpected connection to his beloved game. As their conversation unfolds, Amber tells Tyrique that football is a big part of her family and they are big Chelsea FC supporters. Questioning why Amber is a Chelsea fan, she says: “My dad played for Chelsea.”
Clearly impressed, Tyrique asks: “Really? Who is he?” Amber replies: “Dennis Wise…”

Tyrique asks: “Your dad’s Dennis Wise? Is he actually? That’s sick…I can see the resemblance. He’s not bad looking though, he’s a good-looking geezer! You’re pretty as well…”
Wise was a renowned hardman of football in the '80s '90s and early-2000s and we hope Tyrique, and Sammy, know about his membership of Wimbledon's 'Crazy Gang' in his early career. He went on to spend much of his career at Chelsea and was also capped 21 times for England.
While many viewers said they were Googling Amber's famous dad, others were moaning about yet another famous offspring appearing on the popular show. Last year Gemma Owen, the daughter of Michael Owen took part and in 2018 actor Danny Dyer's daughter, also called Dani, won the show.
One wrote: "AMBER IS DENNIS WISE’S DAUGHTER??! Why they getting footballer’s kids pls?" Another said: "@LoveIsland needs renaming FOOTBALLERS' sprogs - Gemma Owen (Michael Owen) and now Amber Wise (Dennis Wise)."
One viewer pulled in the phrase 'nepo baby' - which is short for 'nepotism baby', and refers to the children of celebrities who have succeeded in careers. They wrote: "ITV running nepo babies man #loveIsland 1st car foggarty [sic] daughter, now Dennis's wise."
"Amber is this season’s nepo baby, her daddy is ex-Chelsea footballer Dennis Wise," wrote another.
