Love Island 's Jacques O'Neill told Jay Younger to "shut up" after Jay questioned the boys' decision in the latest dumping.
Antigoni Buxton and Charlie Radnedge became the latest contestants to leave the villa, after their fellow Islanders were given the power during Friday night's elimination.
The girls and boys had to pick one member of the opposite sex to send home, after the public voted for the most compatible couples.
28-year-old Jay was up for elimination but was saved by the girls who instead voted to send home Charlie.
As the boys helped Charlie, 28, pack up his belongings, Jay questioned the boys' decision to send 26-year-old Antigoni home and was blasted by rugby league player Jacques, 23.
Jay said: "What was your thought process behind that one?"
Jacques replied: "Jay, just shut up man, do you know what I mean," and Jay then apologised.
Jay had expressed his interest in getting to know Antigoni before the boys chose to dump her from the villa.
Fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the comments, with some labelling Jacques a "red flag".
One person tweeted: "The way Jacques spoke to jay was just not needed, he only tried to ask a question."
Another said: "Jay asks why and jacques shuts him down in the rudest way… I hate jacques and how he talks to people."
One fan wrote: "Jacques telling Jay to shut up. He’s a walking red flag."
A fourth commented: "Why tf is Jacques being rude to Jay for no reason???"
But some fans were on Jay's side, with one person tweeting: "Absolutely here for Jacques telling Jay to shut the f**k up."
After Antigoni was announced as the latest girl to be dumped, Paige Thorne said: "What the actual f**k is going on right now?"
Speaking in the Beach Hut, she added "This sucks, I get like, Antigoni has come in here and I've made an amazing friend for life."
Antigoni said: "I'm sad because I was having so much fun but there's lots of guys on the outside. My love island experience has been so fun."
