Love Island star Zara Lackenby-Brown’s brother has revealed the truth about her friendship with fellow Islander Olivia Hawkins, after fans uncovered their connection outside the villa.
This ongoing winter series has seen the pair clash as Zara, 25, branded Olivia, 27, ‘two faced’ as the pair tousled over semi-professional footballer Tom Clare – who Zara is currently coupled up with.
As the bubbling feud was aired on the ITV2 dating show, fans have spotted that Zara and Olivia know one another outside the villa – with fans spotting the pair have left comments under one another's Instagram posts.
Love Island fans subsequently turned sleuths as they dug up an old music video the pair have starred in together.
Neither Zara nor Olivia have commented on the fact they have history outside the villa, amid a string of rows around the fire pit.
Zara’s brother has now addressed the connection between the pair once and for all, saying that while they had met previously, they were not friends before entering the show.
Zara’s brother Alex appeared on Sunday evening’s instalment of the Love Island spin-off Aftersun and spoke with freshly minted ITV2 host Maya Jama.
Alex said: “So they have been on set together for a music video, but as people do on social media they exchange messages, big each other up, that sort of thing.
“But no, they didn’t actually know each other beforehand. Everything that has unfolded has been on TV.”
It comes after the first dumped contestant David Salako revealed Zara and Olivia's friendship ‘was discussed’ amongst the Islanders in the villa.
The dumped islander has told fans of the ITV2 show how Zara ‘told everyone’ she knew her co-star prior to entering the villa and Olivia confirmed she and the model were friendly back in the UK.
Taking to TikTok, dumped Love Island star David replied to a fan who asked: "Did Olivia and Zara talk about that they knew each other outside the villa?"
"Yeah, this was something that was discussed in the villa so...." David began when sharing his reply.
"They told everyone - I think Zara told everyone she knew Liv and Liv confirmed."
The music video for rapper Dapz's song Take You Away sees both Zara and Olivia make appearances.
The pair are seen dancing in the pool and around the villa and, in one shot, the pair are standing next to one another while Dapz performs his song on a sun lounger.
Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
