Love Island star slams TV bosses for 'making her the villain' with 'pretty bad edit'

Love Island star Tanya Manhenga slammed ITV for the 'pretty bad' editing they did to her scenes.

The 23-year-old finished in fourth place alongside beau Shaq Muhammad as they reached the final of the hugely popular ITV2 show after spending eight weeks in the South African sunshine.

However, Tanya and Shaq's relationship wasn't always smooth sailing as she brought back Martin from Casa Amor.

Things even got awkward when Shaq's sister confronted her and said they needed to 'have a conversation' after they left the show.

However, Tanya and Shaq insisted she was 'not the big bad villain' the public thought she was.

"She’s honestly the nicest, kindest girl that I've ever met and I wouldn’t be with her if that wasn’t the case," the former airport security officer said.

Speaking to Daily Star, Tanya added: "...Obviously on screen, it was a completely different thing, so yeah I do think we got edited pretty bad because that’s not me."

After coming fourth in the show, Tanya revealed she wanted to focus on her career rather than fame.

Tanya, who is a biomedical science student, has been determined not to let her success get in the way of her studies as she aims to complete her degree at the University of Salford.

She announced her decision during an Instagram Q&A a few months ago when a fan asked if she was going to drop her studies after finding fame.

The TV star replied: "I'm definitely going to finish... I don't start things and don't finish them."

Tanya insisted that the couple will not rush into moving in with one another but admitted she is "definitely thinking" about swapping Liverpool for London in the future.

The Love Island finalist said: "We really want to take our time with that step because it means a lot to me and him. But if I have to be closer to him I'll go to London or he'll come to Liverpool."

She also said the pair were planning "holidays, chill days and having fun together." Tanya added: "We are like kids when we are together, we have so much fun! I want to continue that."
