Love Island star Liberty Poole left 'shaking' as man follows her around supermarket

Love Island star Liberty Poole was left 'shaking' after a man started following her while she was out running errands.

The TV personality took to her Instagram Stories to encourage fans to listen to their 'gut instinct' in scary times like this.

After the ordeal, she waited until she got to her car before sharing the terrifying incident with her 1.4 million followers.

She was collecting a parcel when she decided to head to the supermarket for some items and noticed a man looking her up and down.

Liberty said: "He basically looked me up and down and was like on his phone and then he was following me and looking at me round the aisles."

She went to the supermarket's staff to inform them of the situation.

Although the man left the supermarket, he still waited in his car for her to leave.

"Then I said to the security guard 'please may you walk me to my car' and by the time he'd seen me ask the security guard, basically he left so I thought it was safe so I then walked up to my car and he followed me to my car," she added.

"I had shopping bags and a parcel in my hands," she continued. "So I wouldn't have been able to defend myself and he said 'excuse me'."

She answered the man by loudly telling him: "No, f**k off" which made him drive off.

The reality star then told men to not follow women and girls who are on their own and reminded them that they 'do not want the attention'.

She told followers to trust their gut instinct and to stay safe.

Liberty safely made it home and took to social media to thank fans for sending her messages of support.

She teared up as she thought about what could have happened.

"I just to say thank you for all your really nice messages, I'm just a bit shook up because I just feel like I've escape something really bad, like my gut instinct was screaming at me like 'Lib, Lib something's wrong'," she said.

"And then for him to have actually followed me all the way back to my car, it wasn't like next to the shop or anything, it was a walk and it was down this street.

"It's just so scary to think about what could have happened, but luckily I'm safe."
