Love Island filming was paused on the first day after as paramedics rushed to the scene.
The contestants halted filming on night one as Catherine Agbaje needed medical assistance during filming on Monday. The 10th instalment of the hit reality show aired on Monday as host Maya Jama welcomed a slew of sexy singletons into the Spanish villa for a summer of love.
Catherine, 22, was paired with Andre Furtado, 21, in a similar twist to last year where the public chose who the Islanders initially couple up with. Shortly after coupling up, Catherine started to feel unwell and was seen by the villa's medical team.
Catherine's ill health was put down to "heat, nerves and not eating enough", while a source claimed the contestant's welfare "was the priority" as filming temporarily stopped.
A source told The Sun: "Catherine started to feel ill during filming and she was seen by the villa’s medical team.
“Her welfare was the priority and filming with the other islanders and Maya was stopped until she was feeling better."
The insider added: “It seemed the heat, nerves and not eating enough was the cause of her turn and she returned to filming not long after. Either that or the shock of being paired with Andre Furtado was a little too much to handle.”
This comes after bombshell Zachariah Noble made his dramatic debut at the end of the launch episode just hours after the contestants entered the villa.
He wasn't the only one entering the villa though, as host Maya Jama returned to unveil the next twist. She asked the girls to step forward if they were unsure about their current boy, leading to Ruchee Gurung and Jess Harding stepping forward.
Love Island airs all this week at 9PM on ITV2 and ITVX.
