Love Island star Shaughna Phillips was excited by the arrival of her daughter's placenta after welcoming her first child. The birthday girl, who turned 29 yesterday (Tuesday April 11), told her Instagram follower she was feeling emotional to have received the delivery after giving birth to Lucia on April 4.
"Look what's arrived," she declared on her Instagram Stories about her delivery from placenta encapsulation company Placenta Plus. "Actually feel quite emotional having this delivered!"
Explaining why it meant so much to her, she said: "Knowing my placenta kept my little darling healthy and safe for nine months," and she added: "Wow the hormones are real lol." Shaughna then told her followers: "Going to sterilise some bottes and then show you what @placentaplus have made me."

Placenta encapsulation is the process of turning the placenta, an organ that develops in the uterus during pregnancy providing oxygen and nutrients to a growing baby, into a palatable vitamin taken as pills and gummies and also used in skincare. It is believed to reduce the likelihood of post-natal depression by giving back natural hormones and has already been used by other celebrity mums including Coleen Rooney, The Saturdays singer and TV presenter Rochelle Humes, TOWIE favourite Amy Childs and forner Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent.
Announcing the arrival of her tiny bundle of joy Shaughna, who was among the singles hoping to find love on the popular reality series during its first winter series set in Cape Town in 2020, shared a gorgeous photo of mother and daughter in hospital. "My darling Lucia, I wish I had you sooner so I could love you longer," she penned to her first child. She followed this with her birth date, weight and time of birth "04/04/23. 8lb 8oz. 8:10pm."
Paige Turley, who won that series of Love Island with partner Finley Tapp, told her: "The most perfect little girl!!!! Can’t wait for cuddles." Tasha Ghouri from summer 2022 Love Island exclaimed: "Congratulations beautiful!!", Indiyah Polack told her: "Congrats babes!!!" and Danica Taylor said: "Congratulations babes."
Liberty Poole from Love Island 2021 messaged: "Congratulations!!! She’s gorgeous." And 2018 Islander Laura Anderson cheered: "Yessss you Rockstar! Well done mummy. She is your double, what a dream."
On her birthday Shaughna posted a new snap of herself out in a cafe with her baby as she also celebrating her naming. "Happy birthday to me & happy 1 week to my dream girl Lucia, the only present mama could ever wish for," she wrote.
Another picture showed Lucia sleeping with her birth certificate keepsake placed next to her. She added: "Lucia also became an official person today! Life is so much more now, I’m obsessed."
In October Shaughna announced she was pregnant with her first child with a tear-jerking black and white video on her Instagram. The reality star was seen beaming with delight as she held her positive pregnancy test.
The video also showed her getting an ultrasound, sharing the news with her close friends and visiting the grave of her late father Eddie, who tragically died of cancer in 2016. Shaughna was a democratic services officer for Lambeth Council before entering the TV villa.
Shaughna was coupled-up with Manchester scaffolder Callum Jones on the show. However he went on to find love with model Molly Smith during the Casa Amor stage of the series which sees relationships put to the test with a batch of new Islanders.
