Love Island fans were left screaming at the television as Glasgow contestant Ella was told to 'run' from 'toxic' Tyrique.
The 23-year-old expressed hurt to her partner that he didn't shut down flirting with Kady McDermott as her place in the villa could have been put at risk. The footballer savagely shut down Ella's concerns as fans encouraged the Scots reality star to crack on with another guy.
During Sunday's episode, Ella tells him she is upset about how he acted with Kady, saying: “I feel like them situations last night, most guys would be like "If I keep on flirting with other girls and doing this, she will go home. Because she easily could've picked you last night.”
Ty replied: “Mm, but she didn't," while Ella continued: “Yeah but you just wanna be out here all the time.”
In a savage move, Tyrique replied: “I miss the game”, hinting towards missing the single life when furious Ella raged: “Go back to the game then.”
When Ella opened up to the girls about Tyrique's comment, they were left horrified by his hurtful words. Ella and Tyrique have been coupled up since day one of the ITV2 reality show, as the Scots star has attempted to take things to the next level.
“I'm like we took three steps forward and now you want to take 10 steps back,” she explained: “And he's like "Yeah, I'm not going to lie I miss the game.”
While Ella started to get very upset, Whitney told her: “Ella you can't be that girl, I'm sorry.”
Fans took to Twitter to fume at Tyrique's savage jibe towards Ella. One penned: "@LoveIsland Ella deserves so much better than Tyrique, he’s a walking red flag, he won’t stay loyal on the outside."
"Tyrique is toxic as hell. Like he gets mad if Ella politely talks to a new boy, but there’s nothing wrong if he wants to flirt with a new girl?," said another. A third added: "idk what soul-ties tyrique has got over ella but it’s gotta stop. she needs to know that he’s told you he’s a player and he misses it so she needs to let it go."
Another viewer said: "Ella save your tears he does not deserve them… Tyrique may be good looking but his personality brings him down to a 2 at most!"
"I feel so sorry for Ella. She needs to leave Tyrique because I don’t see it for them. The lack of remorse for Ella possibly going home if he got picked was wild #LoveIsland," someone else tweeted.
