Love Island star Claudia Fogarty's mum has admitted watching her daughter struggle in the villa has reduced her to tears.
Michaela Fogarty, who is married to I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! winner Carl Fogarty, says this year's series of the ITV2 show has been a "hard watch" at times, amid daughter Claudia sobbing in the villa.
Love Island fans are divided at the moment, thanks to Casey O'Gorman ditching this year's villa nepo baby Claudia in favour of bombshell Rosie Seaford.
Last night's update from the villa in South Africa saw Casey admit to Claudia he feels "more of a connection with Rosie" and brutally dump his partner of almost three weeks.
Speaking to Maya Jama on Sunday, Claudia's mum confessed seeing her child suffer on national TV hasn't been an easy thing to deal with.
"Oh it's been such a hard watch. It's so tough watching your daughter getting so upset on television," Michaela told the Love Island presenter.
"Oh my goodness she sent me a Love Island survival kit at Christmas with tissues and tequila in it, and I thought, 'why?'"
Maya suggested: "And now you understand..."
Michaela replied: "Yeah."
Continuing to discuss the love triangle on AfterSun, Claudia's mum mused how her daughter would have been the one to ditch Casey on the outside world.
Michaela mused: "Everything is magnified in there, she's seen something with Casey and Rosie, and she can't get out the way.
"On the outside, she'd be like, 'see ya, I'm out the door'."
Love Island fans fumed online last night, as Casey finally put an end to the complicated love triangle and picked Rosie over Claudia.
One angry viewer ranted on Twitter: "Now after 3 weeks of knowing the girl he can just ditch her. That’s where he went wrong he led the girl on?" While another agreed: "Thank u finally someone saying it as it is."
Some felt Casey was doing the right thing, with one musing: "Literally the most respectful lead up to a break up in Love Island history. Casey kept it real and was honest from the get-go… couldn’t have been more respectful."
Claudia lived a glamourous life before entering the Love Island villa, with over 20,000 followers on Instagram and a successful fashion business with her sister Danielle.
The siblings set up Storm Fashion in 2019 before going on to create Sister Stories.
The online store sells "high-end and premium brands for women in the heart of the Ribble Valley [Lancashire]" - with both sisters saying it was a "dream" create their own brand.
Claudia regularly models her merchandise on Instagram, where she also treats fans to a string of bikini pics as she suns herself on far-flung holidays.
