A rugby Super League star is rumoured to be the latest addition to the Love Island 2022 line-up.
Jacques O'Neill, who currently plays for Castleford Tigers, has been lined up to appear on the upcoming series of the ITV2 dating show.
The 23-year-old sportsman began playing for the club when he was teenager, and is regarded as one of rugby’s best young prospects.
Jacques, originally from Cumbria, played for the England Knights early on in his career, and since 2019, he has made 29 appearances for the Tigers.
According to Rugby League Live, he’ll be looking for love as he makes his Love Island debut next month, when it returns to ITV2.
The sportsman has been hampered by injuries over the last year, according to the outlet, and also underwent major hamstring surgery.
The injury disrupted his career at the Tigers, meaning he only played six times last season, and was forced to miss out on the Challenge Cup Final.
Away from the pitch, Jacques is a loyal family man, and regularly shares pictures of his beloved mum Janet, who he once said has never missed any of his games.
He also recently celebrated the arrival of his niece, and delighted his followers when he uploaded a picture of him cuddling the gorgeous newborn.
Brad McDermott, younger brother of Zara, and former WAG Sophie Draper are also set to be entering the villa next month.
Jacques isn’t the only contestant who has already got a lucrative career before entering the villa.
Tommy Fury, the younger brother of Tyson, was already a successful boxer before making his debut on Love Island, and Curtis Pritchard, who counts Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ Pritchard as his big brother, was also famous when he was looking for love in the villa.
Castleford Tigers are currently in the middle of their latest Super League season, and Jacques has yet to make an appearance as he recovers from his hamstring surgery and subsequent op.
Love Island is reportedly set to return on 6 June on ITV2.
