Love Island’s Wes Nelson opened up about his final days in the ITV2 villa as the eighth series of the show winds down for another summer.
The reality TV star, who shot to fame on the fourth series of ITV2's Love Island, appeared on Good Morning Britain to promote his music and conversation turned to the dating show.
Presenter Ed Balls asked the reality star about his own final days in the villa four years ago, when he was coupled up with ex-girlfriend Megan Barton-Hanson.
Ed asked: “What’s it like in these final days? Did you know what was going on in the wider world with social media? Any sense of it?”
Wes replied: “You have no idea. They completely cut you off from everything outside, but at that point, I think we all just wanted to get out.
“I’d been in there for seven, eight weeks and I was just like, ‘I want out, I want to go’.”
Ed then asked the hitmaker whether he had watched his own season of Love Island back after leaving the villa, which he surprisingly said he had not.
He said: “The only series I properly watched was the year before me. I never watched mine back and I haven’t watched any since.
“I lived it, so I don’t want to jade how my experience was. I know how the edit can be changed to make things look a certain way. I know how it was in real life, so I don't want to ruin the memories.”
As this year’s series of Love Island winds to an end, the show has seen the return of the talent show with the baby challenge on the way after host Laura Whitmore promised viewers it would be back.
However, Love Island producers have reportedly confirmed that the fan favourite Twitter challenge will not be returning to the ITV2 dating show this year, despite an apparent hint over the weekend.
The Online Buzz Twitter challenge sees the Islanders given tweets from ITV2 viewers and asks them to guess the names.
The challenge has previously created explosive scenes in the villa as the Love Island contestants learn the truth behind certain situations.
Over the weekend Love Island fans believed they had spotted a clue the challenge could soon be returning to screens, when the show’s official Twitter account added a disclaimer to its bio.
The disclaimer read: “Tweets and comments may be used on social incl. your name and/or twitter handle.”
However, Love Island will reportedly not feature the popular challenge in the eight series, despite demand from eager fans of the show.
