Tasha Ghouri's dad has said that his daughter breaks down in tears a lot due to the "extra pressure" her disability puts on her that the other Love Island stars don't have.
Over the last few months, viewers have watched Tasha struggle with her emotions - most recently after the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge, which saw her cry over Luca and Dami's reasons for pieing her.
The 23 year old was left in tears after hearing Dami and Luca's brutal reasons for pieing her, with the fishmonger saying: "I could give you a list as long as Adam but we let it go for today and it is just a game."
While Dami said: "The reason I pied you, I feel like you usually get away with a lot of stuff but this pie, you weren't going to get away with..."
Speaking to The Sun, dad Tarek, 55, said that her cochlear implant helped her hear but pointed out that the "technology isn't perfect" as it "doesn't allow us to hear like we hear each other".
"It's constantly got a little buzz to it, which Tasha said she can hear," he said. "The other ear she can't hear anything. It isn't the holy grail."
He explained that because it has a microphone at the front, if someone is talking behind her it is likely that the sound is going to be distorted.
Tarek said: "She has to try and use all her senses and be alert all the time, which is really grating."
When at home, the Islander would usually take off her cochlear implant to rest her brain.
"I think that's even extra tiring for her," he continued. "And generally when people are talking, she relies on lipreading more than people realise."
Tarek also said that when people are drinking, the shape of their mouth can change and when lots of people are talking, it's almost impossible for her to tune into one voice.
He added: "So mentally she's trying to do all this at the same time. She's got this added extra pressure that the other islanders don't have.
"And that spills over into emotional tiredness and tears."
