Sammy Root made a savage dig about Jess Harding that never made it on our TV screens, a dumped Love Island star claims.
Mal Nicol, 25, entered the Spanish villa on day 16 as a bombshell and struck up a connection with 22-year-old Sammy.
Sammy and Mal coupled up on the ITV2 show, leaving Sammy's ex Jess free to explore her options with Mitchel Taylor, 26.
Before bombshell Mal rocked things, Sammy had told then-partner Jess he "wasn't closed off" to getting to know other people.
However, Jess and Sammy are now officially back on, despite project manager Sammy returning from Casa Amor with Amber Wise.
But according to Mal, Sammy isn't actually attracted to his partner. Speaking on the Pop Off Podcast, the dumped Islander claimed: "Sammy was so loud. He was so loud and I was literally about to say 'you need to speak quieter. He was going in like about how he wasn't attracted to Jess... and Jess heard."
Mehdi Edno, who exited the Love Island villa at the same time as Mal, was shocked to hear the revelation and quipped: "Oh my god!" Mal continued, asking Mehdi: "Do you remember that? That was awful and I went and I was like 'You need to apologise to her'. None of it was shown!"
She continued: "I was like, 'you need to go and speak to her because that was horrible'. I put myself in her position and I was like: 'I wouldn't want that'. I obviously spoke to her as well and said like, 'that's awful, I'm so sorry' but that wasn't shown."
Jess recently presented Sammy with an ultimatium and demanded to know where she stands him, as Sammy coupled up with football legend Dennis Wise's daughter after Casa Amor. Jess told her on-off partner: "I wanted to talk to you…realistically I don’t want to be in this situation anymore. I just feel like I’m in another triangle and I can’t be bothered with it anymore Sammy. If I put you in three triangles, with three other boys you wouldn't have it - I want someone who 100% wants me."
However, in a recoupling last night, Sammy opted to pair up with Jess and end things with Amber.
Despite a complicated romance so far, Jess' family watching at home in the UK seemingly approve of their loved one's budding relationship with Sammy.
Jess' mum Sarah recently told told OK! magazine: "We’re all warming to him as time goes on. I had my reservations but I really do believe he likes her – you can tell by his face when she’s not in the room."
Sarah added: "I’m full of banter like Jess, so I’d give him a grilling and a hard time. But he’d be welcome!'
