Love Island 2022 contestant Paige Thorne has shared an update on returning to her job as a paramedic. The Swansea-born reality television star, who just missed out on a place in the final alongside boyfriend Adam Collard, has said she "can't wait" to go back to the NHS.
Paige, 25, who rose to fame on the popular ITV2 dating show this summer, recently told how she was "devastated" she had to resign from her job in the NHS to go on the show. Paige explained she tried "every single avenue possible" including annual leave, unpaid leave and a career break to keep her job.
Speaking on the Girls Know Nothing podcast, Paige explained the NHS management team in Swansea were fully supportive of her, but her only option was to quit as there could have been criticism for allowing a member of staff to go on the show because the service was understaffed. However, in a new update, Paige has revealed she is going back to her paramedic job on a "bank contract". In a question and answer session on Instagram, she told her 1.4 million followers: "It means I can pick and choose shifts that suit me, can't wait."
When asked what was next during an interview on ITV's Lorraine in August, Paige said: "Personally for me, I have a meeting to go back to paramedic work. Actually, I saw an ambulance the other day with sirens on and I had serious FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out)."
Adam then described how "people would be surprised how much [Paige] spoke about [being a paramedic] in the villa. I loved that".
Paige, who recently signed a deal with fashion brand Forever Unique, also answered questions on her relationship with Adam, who hails from Newcastle. Asked how they were doing, Paige responded: "We're good thank you so much. I'm the happiest with him always. Just had the best week together in Italy."
