Love Island's Paige Thorne has addressed rumours that Scott Van Der Sluis is her ex-boyfriend. The Welsh footballer, who hails from Connah's Quay, is currently starring in the 2023 summer series of the ITV dating show.
Meanwhile, Swansea-born paramedic Paige appeared on the 2022 season and just missed out on a place in the final alongside Adam Collard. Last month Paige shut down speculation that Scott was her ex-fiance, telling her followers it was "false news" but that she was supporting her fellow Welsh contestant during his time in the villa.
However, in a new interview, Paige was asked to clarify what the situation was between the pair as rumours continued to circulate.

She was asked on the Not My Bagg podcast: "I want to know what's going on, there's been a lot of rumours. What is the situation with Scott? Apparently, Scott, who is in this year's Love Island, is your ex."
Paige responded: "He's not my ex ex, no. He's not my ex, alright? That's a false narrative. So what it was, it was quite a while ago, before I was in a serious relationship, me and Scott were like dating."
"So you were dating?" podcast hosts Joe and George Baggs asked, to which Paige explained: "It was at like a talking stage for three months and like, you know, back then, he will literally tell you, we would have been together but he had to go away for football."
Asked if she was surprised he'd gone on Love Island, Paige replied: "No, obviously we chatted before he went in. He was asking for the lowdown and the tea in there."
Scott has had a rocky road in the Love Island villa after joining the line-up as a bombshell and coupling up with Catherine. However, the footballer was left single when Catherine brought back Elom and things turned sour between the pair. He is currently in a friendship couple with Amber Wise and is exploring a connection with Abi, who is currently coupled up with Mitch.
