Love Island fan favourite Paige is reeling after an unexpected reaction from her partner.
Welsh paramedic Paige is currently coupled up with Gemma Owens ex boyfriend Jacques, and things have been going from strength to strength in recent episodes. However, a spanner was thrown into the works when Edinburgh heart-throb Jay confesses his feelings towards her.
Paige and Jacques were seen as one of the strongest couples in the villa, and just this week enjoyed a steamy night in the Hideaway together. But now she is left reeling after her partner shows a side of himself that she isn't too keen on, writes the Mirror.
The fallout kicks-off as Jay finally admits to Ekin-Su that he has feelings for Welsh paramedic Paige. At first Ekin-Su takes the news calmly but later pulls Jay for a chat where she admits she's furious he's 'led her on'.
The pair get into a heated argument which ends with Ekin-Su storming through the garden branding her partner a 'f***ing mug.' The actress wastes no time in telling Jacques about Jay's motives towards his partner, which leads to a surprising reaction from the rugby player.
Rather than be annoyed at the fresh competition, Jacques stands up for his pal and tells Ekin-Su he's not surprised Jay's eye has wandered. "He coupled up with you, but he found out what you are within two days mate... a f***ing headache," Jacques tells her.
"He's getting to know people. Why can't people get to know each other?" he asks. After witnessing the sweary outburst, Paige is left further upset when Jacques tells her he 'isn't bothered in the slightest' if she gets to know Jay.
"He said he wants to get to know you, so I said, 'Sweet, crack on,'" Jacques tells Paige. "It doesn't bother me in the slightest. You do your thing."
To hammer home his point, Jacques later confirms in the Beach Hut: "You can't go wrong with honesty. It'll make us worse or better us. I'm a big believer in things happen for a reason. We'll just see how things go in the next few days."
Later in the evening, a heartbroken Paige breaks down in front of Tasha in the dressing room as emotions run-high after a dramatic day. Sensing her pal is not her usual self, Tasha asks "What's troubling you?"
"The whole Jacques thing," cries Paige, bursting into tears.. "He's like, 'Yeah go on have your conversation with Jay.' But it's not what I want!
"I'm just a bit like, are you pushing it that hard because you aren't feeling the same way?
"You can either have all of my effort or none of it," she weeps as Tasha consoles her.
