Maura Higgins is reportedly the favourite to host Big Brother when it makes its epic comeback to ITV2 next year.
Having found fame in the 2019 series of Love Island on the channel, bosses are reportedly wanting the Irish beauty, 31, to present the reboot as she is "homegrown ITV talent".
Producers are said to think Maura has the "warmth" to interview housemates while also being able to "hold the show together".
"Producers are determined to distance themselves from former Big Brother names but the former favourite, Mo Gilligan, is now busy in the States," a source told The Sun.
"Now bosses are looking at female stars who have the strength to hold the show together, while also the warmth to gently quiz contestants in the way that Davina McCall and Emma Willis did so well.
"Maura is a homegrown ITV talent who has all that - plus of course looks great on screen."
Mirror Online has contacted Maura's representatives for comment.
During the final of Love Island, ITV2 shared a short trailer for the upcoming 2023 season - confirming Big Brother has found a new home, following previous stints on Channel 4 and Channel 5.
Big Brother has not been on TV since 2018, when it was axed by Channel 5, but a "Big Brother for the Love Island generation" is planned to be shown on ITV2 from next year.
The housemates will be everyday people, not celebs, and there will be a brand new house in a UK location.
Big Brother began on Channel 4 in 2000 and turned housemates such as Nikki Grahame, “Nasty” Nick Bateman, and Jade Goody into stars.
Rylan Clark, 33, has made no secret of his desire to be involved in the new Big Brother, saying he would be “a million per cent” up for fronting the “biggest and best” reality TV show.
Davina McCall, 54, is also said to be “very keen” to host.
But Emma Willis, 46, thinks it’s time for a change, declaring: “New era, new host.”
The eye logo is likely to return and fans hope Marcus Bentley will carry on as the voice of Big Brother.
