Love Island’s Liam ‘changes voice’ in ‘uncomfortable’ dates with new arrivals

Viewers have taken to social media after Love Islander Liam Llewellyn appeared to change the way he spoke in Thursday’s (June 9) show. Liam, 22, has had a mixed first week in the villa, as he was left single when Davide coupled with former-pairing Gemma Owen.

Liam’s voice was the subject of debate on Twitter with people saying that they felt “uncomfortable” after he spoke in a soft tone while on a date with new Islanders, Afia and Ekin-Su. One person commented: “Why is Liam talking like that to those poor girls.”

Some believed that Liam’s accent had changed around the girls. Another said: “Liam sounding like Janet Jackson on these dates.” The 22-year-old, who is the son of a Welsh rugby legend, has said that he is taking it day by day in the villa and doesn’t rule out a possible recoupling with Gemma.

However, the comments didn’t stop on Liam’s apparent voice change. Another social media user wrote: “Could someone please turn the volume up on Liam pls.”

Meanwhile, others compared Liam to the likes of “Tom Holland”. Despite this, there were those who spoke out in support of the Welsh Islander. He was called “cute” and “a boss”.

Love Island continues at 9pm on weeknights on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox. For more showbiz and television stories, get our newsletter here.
