Love Island presenters Laura Whitmore has revealed she was banned from entering the show's famous villa last year.
After a lot of speculation, the Love Island 2022 line-up was finally confirmed on Monday with ITV bosses breaking with tradition to announce each Islander one by one, rather than in one long list. That meant for five hours, Love Island fans were kept guessing on just would be heading into the villa this year.
The contestants for this year include Michael Owen's daughter Gemma, hands down the most talked about Islander online as the names were all announced. Viewers will get their first look at the 19-year-old in the villa when the new series starts on Monday, June 6.

And someone else who can't wait to head into the show's new villa is host Laura, having being prohibited from setting foot inside last year. Her claims come after viewers were left puzzled by her lack of appearances during last year's show.
Laura revealed news of the ban when discussing the new series, explaining: "The villa last year I was never allowed inside because of Covid. The previous series I had been in South Africa. So I didn’t really know the previous villa in Mallorca. So it’s quite nice to go in with a fresh villa."
Laura has also opened up about just how guilty she feels at having to go into the villa and drop bombshells on the contestants, which normally involves tough decisions round the firepit and someone being dumped from the island. Revealing she finds it hard not to not spill all on some of the show's brutal twists, she added: "I’m always really scared I’m going to give something away.
"Not that I know anything to giveaway! I can’t make eye contact during Casa Amor. Even though they all try and make eye contact with me. They’re all trying to look at me and I’m kind of keeping my eyes down. I have to really go into professional mode and not talk any more than I'm supposed to talk. I have to be unbiased."
