Jacques O'Neill 's departure from the Love Island villa was announced earlier today, just hours after show legend Adam Collard made a sensational comeback and set his sights on Paige Thorne.
The rugby player - Gemma Owen 's ex from the outside world - will explain his reasons for quitting the ITV2 series on tonight's [Tuesday] show to his fellow islanders.
"Jacques has made the decision to leave the Villa," a spokesperson for Love Island said earlier today. "He will explain his reasons to the Islanders during tonight’s episode. We fully support his decision and look forward to seeing what’s next for Jacques."
As we wait to discover why Jacques called it quits with the reality TV show, we take a look back on some of his most shocking moments on screen.
Branding newbie Adam a 'f***ing nothing'
Just hours before packing his bags and heading home, Jacques clashed with new arrival Adam - savagely insulting the series 4 alum.
A sneak peek look at tonight's [Tuesday] episode see his ex Gemma seemingly stirring the pot as she tells Jacques that Adam had been talking about him.
The preview shows Gemma laying on a bed in the garden as she tells her ex-boyfriend: "Oh he was proper slagging you off."
Jacques immediately jumps up and storms over to Paige and asks her: "Has Adam been slagging me off?"
He's then heard shouting: "Who the f*ck is he?! Just another geezer that's been on this show, he's f*cking nothing mate!"
It's not yet known what happened next but Love Island fans have been rife with theories - mainly involving Jacques being taken aback by the Geordie star chatting with his partner Paige.
Threatening to 'flatten' new boy Jay
When Jay Younger, a 28-year-old Investment Analyst from Edinburgh, arrived in the Villa last month, it didn't take long for things to get heated between him and Jacques.
After entering as a bombshell alongside model Remi Lambert, Jay joined the boys for a chat around the firepit.
He confidently the group: "I'm not here to make friends. I'm not here for seasonal boyfriends."
Gemma Owen's ex wasn't exactly welcoming of the newcomer, and appeared to taunt him at one point during the chat.
Asking what he did for a job, he was quick to inform the bombshell that he was a rugby player as if he thought it would intimidate him.
Jacques asked him: "What do you do big boy?" to which Jay responded, looking awkward: "I work in finance as an investment analyst."
Seemingly threatened by the arrival, Jacques then told him: "Do you? I play rugby lad."
Jay soon made a jibe at the Islander, making it clear he wasn't worried about stepping on anyone's toes.
He quipped: "You're a bit small for a rugby player, no?" to which Jacques responded: "Oh really? hey, if you properly run at me I'll flatten you lad, so..."
Jacques pulled a face and scoffed, with Jay replying: "I don't see it happening..."
Paige outburst
Outbursts towards partner Paige actually prompted Jacques' family to open up about his ADHD diagnosis.
Jacques and the Welsh paramedic had been favourites to win the show at one point, but Love Island viewers began to turn against Jacques.
Fans expressed concern when the sports star fumed that Paige could "f**k off," after she chose to speak to Jay rather than go for a swim with him.
Online concern continued when Paige was left upset by the results of the heart rate challenge, when Gemma and Jacques' were both raised the most by each other's dance, only for Jacques to be miffed by her concerns.
Following a backlash, Jacques' sister took to Instagram in an attempt to offer some context and possible reasoning behind her sibling's communication.
"By no means is this a get out clause for his actions but it is to show that he can fundamentally struggle with his emotions at times," she wrote as she explains Jacques was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 14.
'Nasty' unaired rows
Love Island viewers allegedly never got to see some of Jacques' most heated moments on-screen, according to one ex-Islander.
Axed contestant Remi Lambert revealed last month how he reportedly came to blows with Jacques in a slew of nasty unaired scenes rows.
"There was of lot stuff that wasn't aired - a lot of stuff going on," Remi confessed on YouTube series Reality with Will Njobvu.
"So basically, me and Jacques got into quite a lot of arguments and it just made my experience s**t.
"It ruined it for me. People were saying, 'It's because he's got a rugby persona' - but you can't treat people like that," he added.
When pressed by Afia about what the clashes were about, Remi explained: "He was just trying to get on to me" before revealing the rugby player would constantly mimic his voice and say things like: "My name's Remi. I'm hard and I'm from Manny."
Remi said he was not the only male in the house that Jacques has been having secret clashes with, but he was alone in standing up for himself.
"It was so jarring but I was the only one to stick up for myself because he would always do that to people and I would just like stick it on him and say 'Shut up!'
"But yeah, we just got into a lot of fights and stuff," he admitted.
