Love Island finalists Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack have finished the ITV2 show third after securing their place in the final as the couples battled for the £50k prize fund.
Fans - who just watched Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page come in fourth place - were disappointed with the results, and were hoping they would come second place.
"Dami and Indiyah deserved second place," one user commented. Another added: "Can't believe Indiyah and Dami are at third place [upside down smiling face]."
One upset viewer posted: "RECOUNT THOSE F***ING VOTES NOW."
Many were just happy they were in the final and said: "Congratulations to Indiyah and Dami , they found love and I wish them both the best , I can see them lasting."
"Congrats Dami and Indiyah for third place," one user said.
After getting third place, Dami and Indiyah sat down to chat with Love Island host Laura Whitmore about their turbulent journey.
Indiyah joked she knew Dami was a 'bit of me' when he walked into the villa and she noticed his nipple piercing.
Dami, 26, and Indiyah, 23, were the only couple to receive no votes from their fellow Islanders as the contestants voted for who they thought was the least compatible last week.
However, despite being the only couple kept safe, the Love Island originals were only in with an outside chance of winning the show according to bookies ahead of the final.
Gambling company Betfred had the couple as 16/1 to win this year's series on Monday night – behind all the other remaining couples in the villa.
The couple’s journey in the villa has certainly not been smooth sailing, but after patching up after an explosive Casa Amor showdown, the couple have become fan favourites.
After they clinched their place in the final, viewers were quick to recall the heated back-and-forth during their explosive Casa Amor split, where Indiyah scathingly quipped “may the best heartbreaker win”.
Taking to Twitter, fans of the ITV2 show gushed over the duo's journey as they noted that they had gone from “heartbreakers to lovers”.
Following the Friday compatibility vote among the couples, one fan penned: “May the best heartbreaker win. And now they are here winning together. Damiyahhhhh!”
Another added: “Nobody voted Damiyah. Best in compatibility, heartbreakers and lovers!”
A third wrote: “Dami and Indiyah went from "may the best heartbreaker win" to "will you be my girlfriend?”
“From "may the best heartbreaker win" to a couple. Got to respect it,” another added.
This comes after the couple faced an unexpected reception from their families on Meet the Parents day, as Dami was grilled by Indiyah’s mum and sister when they stepped into the Love Island villa.
The Islanders were finally introducing the other half of their couples to their family and friends in an episode viewers couldn’t wait for.
Indiyah’s mum, Dee, and sister Shak began by giving Dami a severe grilling over his Casa Amor behaviour, including his notorious three-way kiss.
Not long after, Dee actually called Dami, ‘Deji’, misnaming him for Casa Amor bombshell Deji Adeniyi, who Indiyah had recoupled with after Casa Amor.
Dami was left stunned by Dee’s mistake, especially after Indiyah herself has made the error a few times before.
Last time it had happened, Indiyah immediately put her hands over her mouth after calling Dami, Deji (while he was still in the villa), with it clear the microbiologist was not happy.
