Love Island's Iain Stirling aims Twitter dig at boys on the show over 'unconvincing' argument

Iain Stirling has publicly called out Love Island's male contestants for the 'unconvincing' argument they make year after year about needing to be 'tested' in the villa, leaving the girls they're coupled up with feeling insecure and questioning themselves. And his take on things came as viewers were left angry by Tyrique Hyde's treatment of Ella Thomas.

Iain has been the narrator of the ITV2 dating show since day one and is back in the voiceover booth for the latest series, which got going last week. Having had a keen eye on proceedings so far, Iain is well placed to pass judgement on what he has seen from the Islanders, not only this year, but in series gone by.

And he has homed in on the Love Island boys 'needing to be tested' excuse, something used by many of them over the years. Having watched Tuesday and Wednesday's episodes when Tyrique got to know new girl Leah, leaving Ella upset, particularly after Leah 'stole' Tyrique away from her in the recoupling; Iain took to Twitter to have his say.

As disgruntled viewers were reacting in their droves, Scottish comedian posted: "I’m 10 series in, watched every episode and I’m still yet to hear a man make the “I need to test myself” argument convincingly. His tweet got a number of responses, with one fan replying: "The other ridiculous line is "I owe it to myself" and another commenting: "To see if what I’ve got is real is another one ha ha"

Focusing their attention on the Tyrique and Ella situation, one Love Island viewer tweeted: "Ella is Tyrique's backup plan and it hurts to watch. "I always said I need someone to come so I can test and that." Test what??" Echoing those sentiments, another remarked:"I need a bombshell to come for Ella so she can “test” Tyrique back. What’s his problem?"
