Love Island's Haris shares hopes to become next Molly & Tommy and wants to face him in ring

Love Island star Haris Namani has shared his hopes of turning his upcoming stint in the villa into the level of success of alums Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague.

The ITV2 reality dating show is returning to screens for its winter edition in just a matter of days and fans are already eager to meet the new twenty somethings looking for love.

The 21-year-old TV salesman, who hails from Doncaster, is among this year’s hopefuls and will be walking into the South African villa on Monday evening.

Ahead of his primetime TV debut, Haris was quizzed on which of the past Love Island couples he would most like to emulate ahead of his quest for love.

Haris said: “You've got three. You've got Ekin-Su and Davide, their energy was unmatchable – the drama and everything was very good.

“Then you've got Kem and Amber, they were crazy and lively, I liked them.

“But then you've got Tommy and Molly. Obviously since they first actually met in the jacuzzi and she came out and you could definitely just see it was different.

“And you saw how different they were [with one another] to what they were with anyone else and you saw a different side to him – because obviously he's Tyson Fury's brother – but he actually showed his loving side on the show.

“And look at them now, they've got a baby and now well they’re the future.”

Tommy again came up when Haris considered which past Islander he would want to face off with in a boxing match, as he laughed saying: “He's a bit bigger than me so, yeah. But, I'm fit so I reckon if I moved around for a few rounds and got him really tired.”

Love Island returns on Monday (ITV)

This comes after news of the major twist that Love Island fans would get the chance to vote for the first bombshell to enter the villa in this series.

It’s not the only shake-up this series, as the show rolled out new Love Island social media rules, which will see the Islanders pause posting content on their accounts rather than having a family member or friend monitoring their pages while they're away.

ITV confirmed the new social media strategy in December, stating that contestants will be asked to ‘pause handles and accounts on their social media platforms for the duration of their time on the show’ in order to ‘protect both the islanders and their families from the adverse effects of social media’.
